Project Overview
Somaya Solar successfully executed a 2.4 MW ground-mounted solar power plant under KUSUM-C for the Ram Sati Devi project in Katni, Madhya Pradesh.
The project involved the complete supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar power plant. In addition to on-site execution, the project required coordination for transmission-related requirements with the local electricity distribution company.
Scope of Work
Somaya Solar’s scope for the project included:
- Supply of solar project equipment and components
- Ground-mounted solar plant installation
- Testing and commissioning
- Project execution and site coordination
- Coordination for transmission-related requirements
The Challenge
One of the major challenges during project execution was managing the 7 kW transmission line requirement associated with the project.
Unlike installation activities that can be managed entirely within the project site, transmission-related work requires coordination with external authorities and adherence to the requirements of the local power distribution network.
Our Approach
Somaya Solar addressed the challenge through liaisoning and coordination with the local DISCOM.
The project team worked with the concerned distribution authorities to manage the required transmission-related processes and facilitate the necessary coordination for successful project execution and commissioning.
This combination of on-ground EPC execution and local DISCOM coordination helped move the project from installation through to successful operation.
Project Outcome
The 2.4 MW KUSUM-C ground-mounted solar power plant has been successfully completed and commissioned and is currently up and running.
The project demonstrates Somaya Solar’s capabilities beyond rooftop solar, including the execution of utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects, project coordination, commissioning, and DISCOM liaisoning.
