Project Overview
Somaya Solar is executing a 2.3 MW rooftop solar project for Akums Limited at its facility in SIDCUL, Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
The project covers the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar system, along with five years of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support to support reliable long-term system performance.
Scope of Work
Somaya Solar’s scope includes:
- Supply of solar project equipment and components
- Complete rooftop solar installation
- Testing and commissioning of the system
- Site coordination and project execution
- Five years of Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
The Challenge
A major execution challenge for this project is the height of the installation area, with the rooftop positioned at more than 70 feet above ground level.
Handling and moving solar modules, structural components, and other project materials to a rooftop at this height requires careful logistics, equipment planning, and coordinated on-site execution.
Our Approach
To address the height-related challenge, Somaya Solar planned the material movement and installation activities with the support of multiple cranes.
Using multiple cranes enables materials and equipment to be lifted efficiently to the elevated rooftop while allowing different installation activities to progress in a coordinated manner. This approach helps the project team manage the logistical requirements of a large-scale rooftop solar installation at height.
Project Status
The 2.3 MW industrial rooftop solar project is currently under execution. Installation and associated project activities are progressing toward the planned commissioning by September 2026.
Once commissioned, the project will add a significant rooftop solar capacity to the facility, supported by Somaya Solar’s five-year O&M commitment.
